Too Small
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- XL
- Height:
- 5' 7"
- Weight:
- 165
This is a good quality product, however the sizes are off the chart. I am 5' 7" and an Extra Large still too small where normally the medium would be fine.

Size up

Made to jump from Pearl to these nicer bibs. Read reviews about sizing, I'm 5 10 185LB and XL fit great, still snug but comfortable. Great quality material.

Super comfortable but sizing is tough.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- XXL
- Height:
- 5' 9"
- Weight:
- 170
You are best to buy a few sizes and return the ones that don't fit. I am 5-9 at 170 lbs but have thicker/muscular thighs/bottom. The XL was super tight around this area and even the straps where tight while on the bike. Double XL fits like a dream as they are tight but not cut your blood supply off tight. Great bibs but super small.

Size Purchased: XL - Fits like an Endura Medium and a Pearl Izumi Medium Great bibs, but they do run two sizes smaller than most brands.

Very Comfortable, Snug Fit
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- L
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 150
These are great bibs, very comfortable on longer rides, pad is not too thick, not too thin, and very breathable. There are hundreds of small round indentations in the pad, which appear to be the key to the comfort and breathability. It's been really hot lately, but these bibs keep me cool, and the light mesh shoulder straps are comfortable, although they may be a bit tight for taller riders. Typical Castelli snug fit, very form fitting. I'm at the size break between M and L, and the Large fits the way I like, which is snug. The leg grippers work well, and stay put. I've worn these on a few dozen rides, and they've held up well so far, I always launder them in a separate zippered mesh bag, so the thin mesh straps don't catch on anything. As for size recommendations, if you're more than 2% body fat go up a size with Castelli, maybe two sizes if you have a larger build.

Defective bib?
- Familiarity:

Good quality bibs but the padding on the ones I received where defective. On the right side of the padding I got severe chafing. I thought I would adjust to the bib but after a couple of rides but I dint. I decided to rerun. Will order new ones when I receive my refund.

Nice bibs

The padding on these seems just right. Not too thin nor too bulky. Shaped right too. The legs fit snuggly and do not creep much. Very nice fit. Look at sizing charts. I usually get L but XL for Castelli.

Initial impression is good
I ordered an XL first, but it felt a little too snug. I ordered the XXL and it fits nicely. BTW, I'm usually a L with Pearl Izumi and Voler (and all other clothing). It's just this Italian sizing is unbelievable too small. At any rate, BackCountry is just awesome though. They never disappoint.

Castelli Quality Impresses - as usual
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

Reading the reviews on Castelli products first worried me. The sizing horror stories became my only concern and when first ordering from the brand years ago I ordered a medium and large in everything. I can honestly say, if you just FOLLOW THE SIZING CHART the product will work for you. And of course, don?t make your main measurement your chest when ordering bibSHORTS. I usually go off my waist or hips as that?s what matters most with this garment. And be honest with your tape measure. I see too many reviews on here of people that are 6 foot tall, and 180lb that order a small and expect it to fit...no. So long as you?re not oddly proportioned that is. Years ago, I ultimately decided mediums fit me better as I like a tighter fit (so that nothing rubs on 4-5 hour rides or races). Medium bibs have fit me throughout the Castelli range and these are no different. They are a compression garment designed to be like a second skin so there is no possibility of chafing. Keep that in mind. I am 5?10-11 and weigh 162lb, making me on the leaner side. The medium gives me a perfect race fit, not too tight but compressive enough that they don?t rub and the chamois stays in place. A large could work if you enjoy a little more freedom...but then again, that?s not what these bibshorts are designed for.
