Why We Like The Endurance 3 Short
Tackle those long base mile rides in the Endurance 3 Short from Castelli. The short is designed to offer superior comfort for the entire duration of your ride so you can focus on the route and not your attire. Made of Castelli's Endurance Evolution fabric, the short stays in place with a compressive fit to help support muscles, and wicks moisture away quickly. Further muscle support comes courtesy of textured compression side panels.
Castelli builds the Endurance 3 with its top-tier Progetto X2 Air Seamless chamois that's redesigned to increase breathability and comfort. It sits softly against the skin, with a bacteriostatic layer and four-way stretch in the two-layer design. Castelli also includes its lie-flat Giro3 leg grippers to keep the leg openings in place for a soft, not sticky, feel against the skin. Final details include the embossed Castelli wordmark on the legs that add a touch of elegance.

My fourth pair. Love 'em
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- M
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 137
Yes, these fit snugly, because they are supposed to! If you are looking for lycra shorts that Taylor Swift wears, these are not for you. I have never owned a pair of "Pro-Level" bike shorts but I think these come pretty close for a medium level price. The padding is enough and stays in place. Everything I want out of a pair of bike shorts. I will order again.

Stitching on the Pad is a major problem
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- L
- Height:
- 5' 9"
- Weight:
- 165
I bought three pairs of these shorts last year and after about 5-6 months of use the stitching on the inside pad detached on all three pairs and the gel pads slide out. The material and all else is incredibly comfortable and durable but the stitching is a major problem. You may only get a few months of use before this happens so at $140/pair you may consider trying something else.

Great short, great quality - runs small!
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Size Bought:
- large
- Height:

- Weight:

I ordered these for my husband and he is always a size large. These did NOT fit. I had to re-order an extra large but worth it for the quality and fit.

A Big Disappointment
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Large
- Height:
- 5' 8"
- Weight:
- 159
Because previous reviews indicated that these shorts run small, I got Large rather than my usual Medium. The waist is too tight and the bottom of the shorts are loose on my legs. I am 5'8" and weigh 159lbs. The chamois isn't that great either. I would definitely not recommend these shorts.

Good successor to the Endurance 2
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Small

I'd say these fit true to size, but that assumes you are used to Castelli. I've had a pair of the Endurance 2 for a while and they've been great so I got a pair of these. The fit is similar, they feel a little tighter, but I'm guessing that my old ones are stretched. The waistband is the only noticeable difference, it's wider and flatter than the 2. Like the last version, they run small, but don't fit as tightly as the race cut like the Competizione (which don't fit me). I'm a short stocky guy (I wear small shorts but medium jerseys for my chest and shoulders), but they work for me. As far as fit: they are tight, they're compression shorts, and you are NOT going to simply step into them and pull them up. I honestly have to put them on in stages and get the cuffs set around my thighs before I get them all the way on. And you'll have to "position" pretty deliberately. Once on, I find them very comfortable although the chamois sometimes takes a few minutes of riding to settle in since it can move a little in its 'pouch'. So I definitely recommend them, just understand what you are getting.

Way tooooo small fit
- Size Bought:
- XL
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 188
I ordered XL which is my BIB sizing with most renowned brands to find out that the Short waist barely fits a thigh ! .... really small, I am a mortal like most amateur cyclist and don't have the Tour de France GC climbers waist ! XL should be mortals XL, I am not even sure is a XXXL (biggest size available) fits me, although my Pant/Jeans Waist is only 34". Whilst the sizing / reviews mention that it fits small, the sizing info states that an XL is a 34" waist, so it's beyond wrong and misleading ... very disappointing. Short quality is great which is expected from Castelli, sizing on the site is a disaster. very unhappy and I cannot return it as i am not in US for now.

Not for thick-legged, short guys
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- M
- Height:

- Weight:
- 145
[After reading the other reviews, make that just "Not for thick-legged guys"] First of all, likely 4-star or 5-star for the right person, but not for me because of my build versus the sizing. I have used PI Pro shorts for many years, size medium, but they're wearing out, so I ordered these Castelli shorts. I guessed they'd run tight, so despite my 31" waist, I went with medium--the PI shorts have always worked well at that size. When I got the shorts I discovered two things; 1) my upper legs are thick (and heavy) enough that just getting these shorts on was ridiculously difficult; and 2) once on, the shorts were too long, barely clearing my kneecaps. What would have helped is if 1) the size chart had included an upper limit on the circumference of the upper leg at each size--I am not overweight, but don't fit the Castelli assumption that upper leg size is irrelevant; and 2) the size chart had signaled to me that my 31" inseam was too short for medium (or small) shorts, which it should have, thus my fault. So if you're short enough (say, 5'6 1/4"), or more importantly thick legged enough, you're neither a candidate for the pro tour nor for these shorts. Otherwise, they should be just fine.

Tiny

I am 5 feet 10 inches with a 29 inch waist and weigh 147 pounds. I often buy size small items from Louis Garneau. Chart indicated a small would fit a 31 inch waist man weighing 154 pounds. The short was TINY! Exchanging for a medium and hope that fits as otherwise it seems like a quality item.

May be great - but not for me
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wear medium in pretty much everything (5'9" and 155lbs); initially ordered a medium in this short and they were tiny. So I returned the medium (for a credit as Backcountry didn't seem to be able to handle an exchange) and ordered the large. I can fit in these, but so far they're still too tight, and the padding is inadequate for an endurance ride. I've worn them once for a three hour ride and I'm doubtful I'll ever wear them again unless I want to be sterile.
