Runs 2 sizes smaller
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

- Extra Large

I ordered a size XL after reading the reviews online. I am 5'10-1/2" and 158 lbs and it was extremely tight. My wife tried it on...5'7-1/2"/134 lbs and fits her perfectly.

The only thing this vest lacks is pizzazz. It is uninspiring 'out of the box' and invites skepticism as cold weather gear. Much for first impressions! It has become indispensable as a mid-layer this winter. It breathes, letting moisture escape and adds an underestimated layer of warmth. The neck is comfortable zipped up all the way. The arm holes are tight but any initial discomfort disappears on the bike. The bodice(?) fits snug. No fabric left to flap here. The three back pockets add storage so I can distribute junk between them and my jacket pockets, which will also be helpful come riding sans jacket. Silly to say anything about as trivial an item as a zipper, but when you need to unzip, it performs flawlessly - one handed. As far as fit goes - it's small. I'm a medium EVERYWHERE except Castelli. I purchased a large. I can put a base layer and a Smartwool" sweater under it, but nothing more. And that works for me.

Nice Vest but Runs 2 Sizes Small

Bought a Medium 5'8" 157 lbs 38" chest. That size almost always works for me, but it was SO tight. Traded for and XL which is still a bit snug, but should be fine. I think this will add some nice warmth on those low 40's days when a jacket is too much but you want something over a long sleeve jersey.

i wear L for all my Castelli Jacket, but this vest in size L is too small. I need to order one size larger than usual for Castelli. The vest is also thinner than expected for an item that is described as a "mid vest".

With the exception of the sizing adjust, this vest is great! I though if I ordered a large I would be good since I normally wear a M, but I had to go with an XL. It does a great job of breathing and is a perfect addition when the ride starts out chilly and then warms up into the 60s. Even does some good wind blocking.
