Why We Like The Cervelo Aspero Rival XPLR AXS 1x Gravel Bike

In the early days of gravel riding we made do with what we had, but that's no longer the case. Cervelo's vast knowledge of cycling has expanded to include an array of modern gravel bikes, like the Aspero Rival XPLR AXS 1x Gravel Bike. This bike in particular is for riders who have that hunger that cannot be satiated with a simple out-and-bike on local gravel paths. This is the bike for exploration, for conquering, and for racing toward unknown terrain.

The Aspero is for pure, unapologetic freedom and speed. Whether we're chasing KOMs, PRs, or FKTs, we know we can count on this bike to take us further, faster. It's reminiscent of racing stiffness and performs like we want our road bike to perform off-road. The Trail Mixer — a flip-chip in the fork — keeps the trail measurement consistent no matter if we're riding with 650b or 700c tires, and we like that we're able to get up to a 40mm tire up front. There are many ways to do gravel, but the Aspero does it, in our opinion, the right way. Stiffness and handling work harmoniously to ensure the bike is responsive and reliable, and the power of disc brakes ensures stopping capabilities are up to snuff no matter the weather or terrain.

*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level. Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR-58

Bought this bike to ride on the overly chip-sealed roads around my county, with really no intention of riding actual gravel. The paved roads around here are worse than many unpaved/gravel roads I've ridden in other states, believe it or not. After about 200 miles, it's the perfect solution to getting a supreme ride that a true road cyclist searches for. For a gravel bike with big tires, this bike is fast, light, solid and super comfortable on almost all road surfaces that I've ridden so far. First experience with SRAM-e components and, so far, am very impressed. This bike is comparable to a top end Trek gravel bike (Checkpoint) at almost half the money. The bike arrived with the hub's drive body disconnected which was a bit problematic given it was given a 50 pt. quality control check prior to packaging. However, after contacting CS and explaining the problem, the "Gear Head" was apologetic and easy to work with to get a solution. Turns out it's not uncommon and was fairly easy to remedy (You Tube) On sizing, was considering a 56, but was worried about it being too small. I am 6' 1" with longer arms and always in the middle zone between a 56 and 58 in all brand of road bikes. Bought the 58 and it was obviously the right choice. Doesn't fit as well as my Bianchi in 57, but a good fit nevertheless. Overall, a great deal on a higher end gravel/road bike. My only worry now is that I may end up riding this more often on the "paved" roads than my coveted Bianchi Infinito CV.
