C5 Optiline Bib Short+
Realizing that even the warmest days in the saddle can often encounter whipping winds, Gore Wear designed their Men's C5 Optiline Bib Shorts+ with the newest Gore Windstopper Cup technology. This technology is comprised of an ergonomic, upturned panel of windproof fabric that blocks oncoming winds and relieves pressure along your most sensitive bits. It's combined with Gore's Advanced Road chamois for plush, moisture-wicking support that satisfies even the most discerning of cyclists with multiple densities of foam cushioning.
Delving into the construction of this premium bib short, you'll find it's made of lightweight, breathable materials optimized for riding in warm conditions. Full mesh bibs provide upright stability while breathing extraordinarily well when the mercury skyrockets in summertime. Optimized seam placement reduces the scratchiness inherent to cheaper bib shorts where stitching digs into sensitive skin, only to lead to chafing and irritation after hours of non-stop riding. Additionally, you'll find a lie-flat hem that remains firmly in place, but without uncomfortable bunching or pressure points.

Good bib but different
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Weight:
- null
It feels like I'm not wearing anything when I have these on which is very different than the rest of my bibs. They are great indoors and outdoors; however, if you prefer the nice compression fit that other bibs provide, steer clear.

These are subpar
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Weight:
- null
I own 2 pairs of C5 bib shorts+, and a pair of c7 bib shorts+. I've owned them for about 2-3 years. I love them. They are quality, and you immediately feel the high quality when you put them on. They still look relatively new, and feel just as great. I recently bought a pair of c5 optiline (red band/accents at bottom of shorts). It's as if a different company made these shorts. You immediately feel the low quality when you put them on. The fabric is too stretchy, and the red band/accent on legs immediately lost their shape and look like an old cotton shirt that has completely lost its shape after less than 2-3 months of wearing them. The chamois is thin, and not comfortable at all. Because the whole bib short is too stretchy, it doesn't stay in place when you're riding, and it feels like you're swimming inside the shorts. Don't buy the optiline.

Nice bib, chamois needs upgrading
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- M
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 155
The fit and material is very nice for this price point. However, for cyclists who do a fair amount of mileage, this chamois simply will not cut it. If they upgrade the chamois to match Pearl Izumi or Castelli's top-of-the-line chamois, I'm in. Serious cyclists will require a better chamois, but great bib for recreational cyclists.

Initial impressions are Great
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- XL
- Height:
- 6' 2"
- Weight:
- 185
I'm 6'2" / 185 lbs / 34" inseam / 40" chest and the XL fits like it was poured on. For the short ride I used them for they were great. I'll update this once I get 40-50 miles but am expecting to be very happy from initial impressions.
