Why We Like The Ibis DV9 Deore Mountain Bike
Whether we are crushing cross-country races or out jibbing and jumping off everything we see fit, the Ibis DV9 is one of our go-to rigs for fun and business alike. We like the Ibis DV9 Deore Mountain Bike for its versatility, lightweight frame, and advanced geometry. Size-specific seat tube angles, a low standover height, and short chainstays are put together to bring an absolute ripper of a bike to riders of all sizes. When equipped with the default 120mm fork, the DV9 features a 66.5-degree head tube angle and a 74-76-degree seat tube angle, giving this progressive hardtail the ability to point downwards on the steeps and be efficient on the climbs without losing sight of its precise handling. Ibis specs this bike to be compatible with a 100-140mm fork, so whether we are looking to drop some weight and go for the podium or want a bit more cushion for harder landings, we're good to go
This build of the Ibis DV9 is the entry-level build, but that doesn't mean cheap components. First up, Shimano's Deore drivetrain, sporting a 12-speed, 10-51t range for a value-packed drivetrain that has a reputation for being reliable. Next, a Fox Performance 34 Step-Cast fork steps this build up without bringing the weight and features a compression switch for climbing. Ibis 933 aluminum rims and Ibis hubs are paired with premium Maxxis Rekon Race tires, offering a cross-country-oriented build without breaking the bank.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
