Why We Like The Ripley XT S35 I9 Carbon Wheel Mountain Bike
Snappy handling, responsive pedaling, and ultra-capable are all terms we use to describe the Ibis Ripley, and the recent update to this short-travel 29er has us pretty stoked. The Ripley V4S maintains 120mm of Fox Factory-supported DW-Link rear travel for efficient pedaling on the climb and exceptional grip on the downhill. It is also still longer, slacker, and steeper, to strike the balance between all-out speed and trail capability. A short offset 130mm Fox Factory 34 fork and 66.5-degree headtube angle create snappy, BMX-like handling while a revised swingarm created a futureproof 55mm chainline, a stiffer, more supportive chainstay, and room for bigger chainrings up front. 29in wheels, a generous reach, and a relatively low standover height make it easy to maneuver the bike through tech sections and flow trails.
Building off of the reliably smooth-shifting Shimano XT drivetrain, the Ibis Ripley XT S35 Carbon Wheel build is ready to toe the line at your local XC race, chase all-day trail missions, and everything in between. The wide-range 12-speed cassette gives us plenty of climbing range but also doesn’t hold us back when we’re looking for flat-out speed. 29in Ibis S35 carbon rims are laced to Industry Nine Hydra hubs for a lightweight wheelset that lets us roll over just about anything we come across, and a pair of Shimano XT brakes let us modulate our speed with absolute precision. The short standover height also allows for a long Bike Yoke Revive dropper post on all sizes so we can get our saddle completely out of the way for more mobility in technical sections. The Ibis Ripley XT S35 Carbon Wheel mountain bike just begs to be our trusty steed for high-speed fun.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
