Why We Like The Juliana Roubion C R Mountain Bike
From technical trails to full-on enduro days, the Juliana Roubion is our go-to bike. With 150mm of premium VPP suspension, the Roubion is a balanced bike that can climb narrow switchbacks gracefully and plow down technical descents. A 64.7-degree headtube angle paired with size-specific seat tube angles, averaging at 77.2 degrees, gives us a bike that is stable, composed on descents, and efficient when climbing. The Roubion features a mixed wheel setup to provide us with the best of both worlds, allowing us to plow through rock gardens and maintain a higher rolling speed with a 29-inch front wheel and have agility and finesse when blasting around bank turns at mach speed with our 27.5-inch rear wheel. A flip chip in the shock link allows us to change the bike's geometry, quickly making it slacker, longer, and lower when we feel like sending it. This year, Juliana and Santa Cruz added a Glovebox frame storage to many of their bikes for the option to leave the backpack at home and store our riding essentials in the downtube of our frame for easy access. Additionally, a new Sag Window allows us to see the shocks sag indicator ring easier by adding a small cutout through the frame, simplifying the reading and setting of our rear shock's sag. Other features of the Roubion frame include integrated downtube and chainstay protectors, a shuttle guard, and a shock fender, all of which aid in keeping the frame protected.
The R build of the Juliana Roubion is an entry-level build, outfitting us with value-based components that won't burn a hole in our wallets. Starting this build is Juliana's Carbon C frame, which goes through the same layup and testing process as Juliana's and Santa Cruz's premium CC frames to ensure a lightweight, strong, and stiff frame. SRAM's GX Eagle drivetrain gives us a reliable 12-speed drivetrain with a proven track record and a huge gear range for getting us up those technical climbs. A Fox Float X Performance rear shock keeps the weight down compared to chunkier chocks but supplies big mountain performance, featuring a compression switch and rebound adjustments. A RockShox Lyrik Base fork with 160mm of travel gives us a simple and reliable fork that locks in the traction when we are headed downhill. To wrap it up, premium Maxxis DHF and DHRII tires were fitted to give us the grip and traction we need when enduro riding.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
