Why We Like The Juliana Roubion C S Mountain Bike
From tearing up our local singletrack to descending steeper and more technical trails, the Juliana Roubion, is our go-to ride when we need a bike that can that can excel on just about every trail. Complete with 150mm of VPP suspension, the Roubion descends with absolute precision and can make short work out of most climbs. The mixed-wheel setup provides the best of both worlds, giving us an efficient rolling 29-inch wheel up front and an agile 27.5-inch rear wheel to corner quicker and get the wheels off the ground easier. A 64.7-degree headtube angle and a long wheelbase sticks our front wheel out in front of us for confidence and stability on the descents. A size-specific seat tube angle, sitting at around 77 degrees, puts us in the perfect position over the pedals, allowing us to be efficient when climbing. Size-specific chainstay lengths mean every rider on a Roubion can have the same agile and playful rear end, no matter our size frame. On those bigger bike park days when we are riding more technical and steep terrain, the Roubion features a flip chip that allows us to adjust our geometry, making the bike slacker, longer, and lower. Juliana made several changes to their frames this year, including a Glovebox frame storage for easy access to our riding essentials and a Sag Window for making sag reading and setup easier. The Roubion includes an integrated chainstay and downtube protector to protect our bike from rock strikes and chain slaps, and a shuttle guard allows us to throw our bike over the back of our truck's tailgate without worrying about scratching our frame.
The S build of the Juliana Roubion combines quality components with a value-packed price point. This build starts with Juliana's Carbon C frame, which is built to the same standards as Juliana's premium Carbon CC frame for best-in-class stiffness and reliability just at a slight weight penalty. SRAM's GX drivetrain gives us a reliable 12-speed drivetrain that has a huge gear range for getting us technical climbs. RaceFace AR Offset 30 alloy rims allow us to plow through rock gardens without worry and are paired with DT Swiss 370 hubs for a premium wheelset. RockShox's Select+ line supplies quality suspension performance to the Roubion, giving us compression and rebound adjustments and making for an ultra-plush ride. Finally, enduro-focused Maxxis DHF and DHRII tires throw down tons of grip and give us confidence slashing through corners and dropping technical descents.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
