Why We Like The Juliana Roubion Carbon CC X01 Eagle AXS Reserve Mountain Bike
The Roubion has long been Juliana's premiere all-mountain machine, and the Carbon CC X01 Eagle AXS Reserve iteration comes to us purpose-built around a mixed-wheel setup. This gives us the confidence of a 29er wheel up front, balanced out by the agile playfulness of a smaller 27.5in wheel out back. 150mm of VPP rear travel, paired with a 160mm fork, gives us just enough travel to tackle double-black lines with ease without slowing us down on the pedal up to the top. This longer, slacker Roubion gets chainstay lengths that vary per size so that every size of rider gets the same balanced ride feel and fit. A longer reach and wheelbase team up with a slacker headtube angle to provide better high-speed stability for technical descents. A steep seat tube angle is combined with the efficient VPP platform for efficient pedaling in and out of the saddle.
This X01 Reserve kit is the best of the best in Juliana's offerings. The top-of-the-line SRAM X01 AXS 12-speed electronic drivetrain shifts cleanly and quickly every single time, while a perfectly balanced combination of the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate shock and Fox Factory 36 fork handles the suspension duties. Reserve 30|HD carbon wheels with Industry Nine hubs are a welcome addition to this high-end kit, as are the 4-piston Code RSC brakes that allow us to modulate our speed with precision. We can't forget about the frame itself, which utilizes the ultralight Carbon CC layup for a considerably lighter frame than Juliana's entry-level carbon layup, all without sacrificing strength or stiffness.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
