This bike is designed especially for 7-11 year olds, with features they can easily learn to use quickly. 8 gears are simple enough to work with, but also give them the flexibility to adjust the efficiency of their pedal strokes. Shimano Acera RapidFire Plus shift levers are far easier for smaller hands to work than twist shifters, and feature an indicator display to make it easy for the rider—and their parent—to identify what gear they're riding in. Since smaller riders are closer to the ground, the Smart Cage derailleur shortens the pulley cage without shrinking the gear ratio width, keeping the derailleur farther from the ground. Prevelo took it a step further, and included a replaceable derailleur hanger just in case it takes a hard hit. Tektro V-brakes ensure that your crusher can control their always-increasing speed thanks to levers situated with a shorter reach. Internally routed lines and a double chain ring guard minimize the potential for tangles and bumps to keep things moving.
