5010 Carbon CC X01 Eagle Mountain Bike

The 5010 Carbon CC X01 Eagle Mountain Bike is the capable, efficient mid-travel trail bike that refuses to compromise on maneuverability and fun. Now developed with a mixed-wheel design, the 5010 reaps the benefits of a 29in front wheel that rolls over desert tech with ease while the 27.5in rear wheel boosts off lips at the local jump trail and rips corners to shreds. 130mm of rear travel is powered by the lower-link design from Santa Cruz with a tweaked shock tune and leverage curve that slightly dampens the ride feel for enhanced traction without sacrificing the signature nimble feel of the 5010. Our favorite feature is the new Glovebox integrated frame storage that stores tools, a tube, and a windbreaker right in the bike’s downtube. The balanced 64.9-degree headtube angle (low position) matches modern trends to achieve stability at speed, without going over the top to retain a precise steering feel for tight switchbacks.

This top-tier build takes things up a notch with the Carbon CC frame construction which is the lightest, stiffest, and strongest offering from Santa Cruz. SRAM’s X01 drivetrain covers shifting duties with reliable, lightweight components that shift on a dime. We’ve become big fans of the ARC Offset 30 alloy wheels from Race Face over the years thanks to their durable design and vibration-damping characteristics. Top-end suspension products from RockShox include a Super Deluxe Ultimate shock for loads of adjustability and a Pike Ultimate fork that smooths out bumpy trails with ease.
