Why We Like The Santa Cruz Heckler C MX S e-Bike
Whether we are slaying big mountain descents or just cruising the singletrack, it is always a fine time to ride a Heckler. We love the Santa Cruz Heckler because it allows us to ride explore more, expend less energy, and have more fun. The Heckler is a mid-travel e-Bike with slack and aggressive geometry, mixed wheels, and 150mm of VPP suspension. With some recent geometry improvements, the Heckler is now longer and slacker to aid in downhill performance. With a slack 64.8-degree head tube angle and a 76.7-degree seat tube angle in the high setting, the Heckler allows us to feel confident dropping down black diamond descents while keeping us in an efficient position when climbing. The Shimano EP8 motor is lighter and has more power than previous versions, boosting the Heckler's capability. Eco, Trail, and boost modes allow us to use the optimal power for our terrain, allowing us to flip it into Boost mode for technical climbs and Eco mode when we are riding flatter trails. A bigger 730Wh battery means we can extend our ride to the next peak without worrying about losing power or getting tired, and the battery is interchangeable, so we can take it out and plug in a fresh one. Other features on the Heckler include an integrated downtube and chainstay protector to protect our frame from chain slaps and rock strikes.
The S build of the Santa Cruz Heckler MX offers quality components that get the job done and won't break the bank. This model of the Heckler is equipped with Santa Cruz's Carbon C frame for a lightweight and stiff frame. SRAM's GX Eagle drivetrain provides us with a 12-speed drivetrain that has a huge gear range and a proven reputation. Next, RaceFace ARC HD 30 aluminum rims and E13 SL hubs combine to make a top-quality e-Bike wheelset that is durable, stiff, and lightweight. Maxxis tires provide reliable grip on the descents, and the rear DHRII tire features a Double Down casing for extra flat protection. The Fox Float 36 Performance, 160mm fork, and RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ rear shock bring us quality suspension performance, allowing us to confidently descend the rowdiest trails.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change.
