Why We Like The Santa Cruz Nomad CC X0 Eagle Transmission Mountain Bike
Built for taking on just about any terrain, the Santa Cruz Nomad is equally at home, sending big freeride lines as it is in between the tape on the enduro circuit. The ultra-strong Carbon CC frame is purpose-built around a mixed wheel setup to give us the rollover capabilities of a 29er up front for picking apart technical descents, with the fun-loving agility of a 27.5-inch rear wheel outback for roosting berms and sending drops.
The 170mm of Fox Factory-supported VPP rear suspension ensures the Nomad's rear travel feels seemingly endless no matter what we throw at it, and the revamped leverage curve gets lower anti-squat values to minimize the impact of square-edged hits. The 63.5-degree headtube angle (low position) provides an incredible amount of stability at speed to meet the demands of high-speed, high-consequence enduro courses, and the steep seat tube angle gets us into a comfortable, yet efficient pedaling position for stage transfers. Plus, the in-frame Glovebox storage compartment allows us to stash our tools, trail essentials, and maybe even a burrito in the downtube.
The Nomad CC X0 Eagle Transmission kit is properly spec'd to withstand the abuse of enduro racing, while still shaving off as much weight as possible. SRAM's new X0 Eagle Transmission 12-speed groupset boasts the same massive gear range that we've come to expect but with even smoother, more reliable shifting than ever before. A pair of 4-piston SRAM Code Silver Stealth brakes integrate seamlessly into the cockpit and provide unreal stopping power, while a set of Race Face ARC Offset 30 wheels deliver the perfect balance of compliance and stiffness for a smooth ride. And to top it all off, the Fox Factory Float X2 shock gives us a plush yet responsive ride and pairs perfectly with the 170mm RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork. So whether we're getting rowdy on some red rock cliffs or chasing podium spots, the Santa Cruz Nomad CC X0 Eagle Transmission Mountain Bike has all we need and more for taking a no-holds-barred approach to our riding.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
