Why We Like Specialized Riprock 20in
As our kids' skills progress, they will need a bike that can keep up with them. The Specialized Riprock 20in kids' bike is the step up they have been hoping for and features more capable geometry and components than traditional kids' bikes. The Specialized Riprock 20 sports a premium butted alloy frame, internal cable routing, dropper post-compatibility, and a quality 1x drivetrain, giving this kids' bike features usually reserved for teen and adult bikes.
Not only do the structure and components meet the standards of advanced riding, but so does the geometry, providing an aggressive 68-degree head tube angle and, subsequently, more confidence as they ride downhill. An 830mm wheelbase ensures stability and composure as they head down steeper and more aggressive terrain, while the short 350mm chainstays provide little rippers better control when the trails get tighter and have more turns. Finally, the 73.5-degree seat tube angle makes for an efficient climbing position.
Specialized fitted the Riprock with a component spec that provides more capability and quickened progression for younger riders. First up, a microSHIFT Advent 9-speed drivetrain ensures a simple-to-use and reliable shifting experience with a huge gear range in a value-based package. Taking this kids' bike to the next level, C-STAR Hydraulic Disc Brakes and 160mm rotors make for enhanced confidence as they become faster. Plus, Specialized Ground Control Sport, 2.35in-wide tires are a step in the right direction and give groms the grip and traction necessary for more advanced riding.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
