Why We Like The Specialized Riprock Expert 24in
When our little ripper's skills increase, and they can tag along on just about any trail, it's time to update their bike capabilities. The Specialized Riprock Expert 24in kids' bike is the step up in performance that our young riders have been hoping for and features an aggressive geometry and a quality component spec so their skills can continue to evolve. Complete with all the features usually only found on adult bikes, the Specialized Riprock Expert 24 sports a premium butted alloy frame, internal cable routing, is dropper post-compatible, has hydraulic disc brakes, and a quality 1x drivetrain. Not only do the structure and components meet the standards of advanced riding, but so does the geometry, giving us an aggressive 67-degree head tube angle so they will feel more confident as they ride downhills and a 73.5-degree seat tube angle so they are always in a good position to put power to the pedals as they head uphill. A near 1000mm wheelbase ensures stability and composure as they head down steeper and more aggressive terrain, while the short 390mm chainstays provide our little ripper will have no problem at all whipping their bike around when it is time to get agile.
The Expert build of the Specialized Riprock is equipped with some components that are found on adult bikes so our little riders can keep evolving their skills. First up, a SRAM NX 11-speed drivetrain ensures a simple-to-use and reliable shifting experience that gives us a huge gear range without all the extra chainrings up front. Hydraulic disc brakes take this kids' bike to the next level, equipping us with SRAM Level 2-piston brakes and 160mm rotors so there will be no shortage of stopping power. A Manitou JUNIT, 100mm fork gives our little rider the confidence to ride more aggressive terrain, while the Specialized Ground Control, 2.35in-wide tires throw down tons of grip and traction in all terrain conditions.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
