Why We Like The SB140 Turq TLR X01 Eagle Mountain Bike
Favored by the riders that make the bike, the Yeti SB140 gets the Lunch Ride treatment which makes for a more aggressive ride than the original SB140. The once-daily Yeti lunch rides are legendary and well known around the trails in Golden Colorado, and this TLR bike is built up the way many Yeti employees prefer to outfit their steed. The main feature is the larger 160mm FOX fork with the GRIP2 damper that addresses our graving for steep downhills and jumps that are borderline sketchy. We also see the addition of a piggyback reservoir Float X air shock, and stout DT Swiss EX1700 wheels. The Lunch Ride SB140 also sees more powerful 4-piston brakes with larger 200mm rotors, as well as a wider handlebar and more durable Maxxis EXO+ tires. This version of the SB lineup includes 140mm of rearward travel and enduro-rated parts all specced to a top-of-the-line TURQ frame layup. TURQ carbon on the yeti is reworked to shed grams and add a level of riding quality that really sets this bike apart from its competitors.
Designed from the ground up for trails that favor the descents over the climbs, this version of the SB140 receives modern lower, slacker, longer geo found everywhere these days (and for a good reason). The 140mm of rear suspension happily gets us through an enduro stage race on Saturday and a long ride with our friends on a Sunday morning. The LR version of the bike gets a further slacked-out 65-degree head-tube angle to get over obstacles while the 27.5in wheels have us playfully hopping over logs and airing off drops. The wheelbase on the SB140 is categorically long for a 140mm trail/enduro bike, with a medium getting 1208mm of high-speed stability-inducing ride characteristics.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
